With Thanksgiving being this week, I find one of the chicest ways to set the table is by using vintage dinner plates of different patterns. With everyone having a different plate, not only does the table look more colorful, but you make each guest feel like an individual. Any full set of vintage china can be expensive since accidents happen, plates get broken, and it's been years since they were manufactured. It's much easier to collect from thrift stores or flea markets when you're looking for just one or two beautiful or interesting plates. Most shoppers are not going to see them as worthy of being snagged up. Not only will you eventually end up with a charming dinner set, but you will also have bought them for probably less than a couple of dollars per plate!
